Research Awards
The USF College of Business Research & Scholarship Awards recognize outstanding achievement in research and scholarship by tenure-track faculty, instructors, doctoral students, masters students, and undergraduate students during the 2010 calendar year. This announcement calls for nominations in each of the following award categories:
Faculty Awards
Tenure-track faculty can self-nominate with no restriction on the number of nominees from each department. The attached nomination form must be completed detailing research accomplishments during the 2010 year and a research plan for continued achievement during 2011. Awards will be up to 12.5% of the recipient’s 9-month salary for summer 2011. (Note: the recipient may teach one course in the summer term or obtain separate grant funding for an additional 12.5% of the 9-month salary; summer compensation cannot exceed 25% of the 9-month salary per university rules.) Based on the availability of funding, up to two awards may be made.
Instructor Awards
Instructors can self-nominate with no restriction on the number of nominees from each department. The attached nomination form must be completed detailing research accomplishments during the 2010 year. Up to two cash awards of $1,000 may be made.
Doctoral Student Awards
Doctoral students must be nominated by their research advisor with no restriction on the number of nominees from each department. The attached nomination form must be completed detailing research accomplishments during the 2010 year. Up to two cash awards of $1,000 may be made.
Master’s Student Awards
Master’s students must be nominated by their research advisor with no restriction on the number of nominees from each department. The attached nomination form must be completed detailing research accomplishments during the 2010 year. Up to two cash awards of $500 may be made.
Undergraduate Student Awards
Undergraduate students must be nominated by their research advisor with no restriction on the number of nominees from each department. The attached nomination form must be completed detailing research accomplishments during the 2010 year. Up to two cash awards of $500 may be made. Nomination Forms (pdf format)
All nominations must be submitted via email to the Chair of the College Research & Scholarship Committee, Uday Murthy, by the end of the day on Friday January 14, 2011. Send all requested materials via email to umurthy@usf.edu (no ‘hard copy’ materials will be considered.) Nominations will be reviewed by the full College of Business Research & Scholarship Committee (members: Anol Bhattacherjee, ISDS; Sally Fuller, Management; Chris Pantzalis, Finance; Sajeev Varki, Marketing; and Uday Murthy, School of Accountancy). If a member of the committee submits a Faculty Award nomination, that person will be replaced by another member of the same department for the evaluation of the award nominations. The committee will make recommendations to Dean Forsythe for the 2010 awards. Award decisions will be completed by March 1, 2011. A College of Business “Celebration of Research Accomplishments” reception will be held in April 2011 when the awards will be presented. Details regarding this reception will be forthcoming.
