Aarti Sharma
Instructor
Aarti Sharma teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on strategic management and sustainable enterprise. She integrates strategic management, international business and triple bottom line theories in her classes. She engages in institutional theoretical research on inter-organizational and multinational strategies that impact sustainable development.
She has a PhD in Management from the Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Research from the University of Waikato, New Zealand. Sharma also holds an MBA degree from the Indira Gandhi National Open University and an MS in Chemistry from the University of Delhi, India. Prior to joining academia, she served the U.S. Departments of State, and Health and Human Services, and managed Indo-US government dialogue and collaboration on sustainable development issues. She has also served the Academy of Management's Organization and Natural Environment division in various executive capacities.

Current Research
Aarti is pursuing research in three domains. Those domains are inter-organizational strategies and behaviors on sustainability, individual and managerial orientation toward corporate sustainability, and corporate sustainability strategies of multi-national enterprises. Aarti has predominantly adopted a global orientation in her scholarly endeavors. She has initiated a multi-year field-based research on corporate sustainability strategies of Indian and foreign multi-national enterprises in India. Her Ph.D. work was based in New Zealand. The USF College of Business recognized Aarti's research performance and potential by awarding her the College's 2009-2010 Outstanding Research Achievement Award.
Service
Aarti is an Associate Faculty of the USF School of Global Sustainability and the USF Center for India Studies. She has also actively served the Academy of Management over the last five years. She has served as the Organization and Natural Environment(ONE) Governing Board member and is the Co-founder and past Editor of The ONE Times. She has also served as the Organizer and Fund Raiser of the 2009 ONE Doctoral Consortium and as the 2005 Assistant ONE Program Chair. Aarti reviews papers for the Academy of Management Learning and Education, the Journal of Business Ethics and Organization & Environment. She is also a member of the Indo-US Chamber of Commerce.
