John Jermier
Professor
Professor John M. Jermier is an Exide Distinguished Professor of Sustainable Enterprise Research and teaches graduate-level courses in organizational behavior. He also holds an affiliate professor appointment in USF's Department of Environmental Science and Policy.
His current research is focused on sustainability, the “greening” of organizations, and trends in green energy/technology. Previously, much of his research investigated workplace sabotage, organizational behavior, and themes in management and leadership. He coauthored a book on resistance and power in organizations, several management textbook chapters and numerous articles in the field. The recipient of the Academy of Management’s Outstanding Service Award; he is also editor of the academic journal, Organization & Environment.
He earned a PhD, MBA, and MA from The Ohio State University and a BS from the University of Wisconsin. Jermier is past chair of the Organizations and the Natural Environment Division of the Academy of Management. He has served on the editorial review boards of Administrative Science Quarterly, Human Relations, Organization, Organization Science, Leadership Quarterly, Leadership, and the Journal of Workplace Rights.

Current Research
His current research is focused on sustainability, the greening of organizations, and the management of green energy/technology and includes a large study of culture change in the U.S. Air Force funded by the federal government. Much of his previous research has focused on the philosophy and social theory underwriting organizational studies with special emphasis on research methodology.
Service
He is co-founding editor and current co-editor of the journal Organization & Environment and past chair of the Organizations and the Natural Environment Division of the Academy of Management. He also serves on the editorial review boards of Human Relations; Journal of Workplace Rights; Leadership Quarterly; Leadership; Organization Science; and Organization and is a member of the Faculty Advisory Board of the Patel Center for Global Solutions.
