Get Involved
These are just some of the ways you can get involved with the USF College of Business. Don't see something that is right for you? Contact us. Let's talk about your passion, choices for service, and ways you can give to the university.
- Corporate Mentors Program
- Business grads and other area professionals serve as mentors to students who are the first in their families to gain a college education. Mentor a business student by visiting a few times a month, either in person or via phone, where you provide tips, advice, and insight on today's corporate world to students who may have never been inside a Fortune 500 company or had the opportunity to see what it takes to run a small business.
- Bulls Business Community
- We're in the business of living and learning! With alumni participating as speakers, hosting tours, or pro-viding financial support for our residential program, the Bulls Business Community has become a model program on campus, creating a small community within the larger university.
- Distinguished Speaker Series
- Alumni may be invited to participate in the Executive MBA program's distinguished speaker series or serve as guest speakers in graduate or even undergraduate classrooms. Senior-level business leaders interested in participating in the program should contact Ann Ruble.
- Financial Support
- Alumni provide financial support to the College through the University's annual fund, by establishing scholarships and professorships, by supporting special events, and through targeted giving to support programs. View the roster of business-specific funds and you'll see there are opportunities to give specifically to the business school, through the USF Fund for the College of Business (look for fund code 200330 on the roster), as well as opportunities to honor a specific professor, give at the department level, or support a specific program.
- Celebration of Free Enterprise
- Numerous alumni sponsor and help plan the College's only special event fundraiser, a premier business networking event honoring those making a significant contribution to the free enterprise system while raising funds for scholarship and other student programs. View photos from the 2009 celebration honoring Jim Atchison and the leadership team from Sea World Parks & Entertainment.
- Corporate Connections
- Take advantage of opportunities to recruit and hire USF grads by participating in Corporate Connections events or hosting info sessions through our employer relations offices in the business school.
- Marketing Practicum Student Host
- Each semester, a limited number of students are able to complete internship with an area company in exchange for academic credit. Providing them with hands-on marketing experience through partnerships created with many of Tampa Bay's top companies, many students look back and say that this was one of the best courses they took in college because it builds upon the academic learning from earlier classes an helps them “see it” in practice.
- ISDS Practice Center
- The ISDS Practice Center enriches the learning experience for information systems students by challenging them with “real world” projects presented and sponsored by industry partners. Students earn a small stipend and work on collaborative team-based projects, supervised by ISDS faculty mentors and at least one representative of the project-sponsoring industry partner.
